Superbowl XLVIII

Emotions were running high during the Superbowl XLVIII kickoff. Fans made bets and a football pool was filled out. Nothing could have prepared the guests at Jonathan Wolfe’s party for the outcome of the game.

“This will be the best Superbowl ever” said Nick Tsingos, a Denver Broncos fan. “We will win today and prove that we are the best.” Men and women sat on the edge of the couch watching the game before they realized it would be a sad day for the Broncos.

The scoreboard didn’t stop the opponents’ fans from having a good time, as they continued to make bets and slap each other on the shoulder with a lighthearted laugh. Everyone was in a good mood. Nikkea Turner, who made a bet with her boyfriend, said “The Broncos better win! I have a whole dollar resting on the results of this game.”

After the Seahawks scored another touchdown in the third quarter making the score 32 to 8, she became increasingly nervous. Her boyfriend laughed and joked that he was going to win the dollar. In the last seconds of the game, with the final score resting at 43 points for the Seahawks and 8 points for the Broncos, Nikkea reluctantly handed over her dollar and joked that she didn’t care what the results were anyway.

The money from the bets were handed out to the winners and people shook hands and laughed about the score of the game. “I couldn’t believe they went all the way to the Superbowl, and then only made one touchdown” said Cindy Main. “Last years’ game was more exciting than this, someone who deserved to go to the Superbowl should have been there, a team that could have made the game interesting.” Well, there is always next year.
